Since finishing his B.A. in philosophy and aesthetics, Mårten Thavenius has worked as a graphic designer and editor in the publishing industry and as a user-interface designer, user-experience specialist, application developer, and systems architect.

In 2009, he left IBM to work as an independent web solutions consultant and typeface designer.
