In 2012, The Belo Center for New Media became the newest addition to the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. Dyal was engaged by project architect Lawrence Group to develop environmental graphic design, wayfinding and donor recognition elements for the five-story, 100,000 square foot LEED-designed building.

The design solution focused on design features that reinforce timeless journalistic attributes and honor the history of the Belo family—founder of Texas' oldest newspaper.

One of the specialty interior design elements, a large honorific piece, recognizes third generation Belo Corp. leaders Joe M. Dealy, H. Ben Decher and James M. Moroney Jr. The honorific display features a vintage photograph reproduced as a large newspaper-style metal plate photo and bronze specialty signage that recalls newspaper hot-metal like type to reinforce the overall newspaper reference.
