Out today, Eubie Scriptis Benjamin Wilkerton Tousley's artwork for Tempo nods to that past but pushes it onto a modern, techno dance floor with a icy color scheme, spare layout, and hard-edged complementary typeface (Trim Mono). On the CD and vinyl covers, the title type is spot coated, echoing the shiny black attire worn by Bell in the photography.

It's always nice to see a "retro" font used in a contemporary way, not just in attempts to replicate the past. It's the proof that a revival of old type or lettering isn't merely a nostalgic effort; it can be transformed and relevant in a new context.
