Gestalten is returning again this year to host a series of workshops at Gestalten Space with visionary creatives that are shaping our visual language.

Headlining the 2012 series is Mario Lombardo, one of Germany's most internationally known and prolific graphic designers.

Mario Lombardo has designed the comprehensive visual communication for the upcoming 7th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, which focuses on the interrelationship between art and politics.

Life in the new millennium has become significantly more political and, as a result, designers are increasingly inventing new visual concepts to communicate this upheaval.

Referring to the theme of this year's Berlin Biennale, Mario Lombardo will discuss the possibilities of how visual concepts can reflect and set agendas, address questions relating to the role of the graphic designer, and explore the boundaries of politics, advertising, activism, and urban interventions.

This two-day workshop is designed to address these issues with a series of hands-on field experiments.
