Magdalena Frankowska

Graphic designer and type designer. M.A. from the Warsaw University in art history on women artists and the Surrealist movement (1997). Co-founder and partner of Fontarte design studio. Magdalena has been designing several contemporary typefaces. She has published articles on type and visual communication in Polish design & print magazines. Magdalena together with Artur wrote a book ‘Henryk Berlewi’ (2010), about a precursor of modern typography and graphic design.

Magdalena is an active personage in the graphic scene in Poland. She has been organizing and curating events on international book design with guests such as Norm studio, Irma Boom, Jost Hochuli, Gerry Leonidas and others.

Magdalena Frankowska is a member of ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale) and a member of the board of Polish Association of Designers of Applied Graphics (STGU).
