SABON NEXT - Gnu release, 2006
Fully-fledged OpenType version based on the Type 1 scriptum release of SabonNext LT. A wealth of OpenType features makes it easy to get the best out of this versatile typeface.
NOTES
1. All expert sets merged with base fonts, together with all kerning (appears genuine).
2. Default figures changed to proportional lining
3. All glyphs have Unicode addresses; coding matches across all weights and styles.
4. Fixes: menu names; corrected Italic slant angle; corrected scaron in DemiSC; created hsuperior for ordinals feature; lots of other minor tweaks.
5. Added a mass of OpenType features. Standard features are AALT, KERN, CPSP, DLIG, SUBS/SINF/DNOM, SUPS/NUMR, ONUM, LNUM, TNUM, PNUM, SMCP and C2SC (neither in Black). Advanced features...
Fractions. Also creates fractions from superior/inferior numbers in valid contexts.
Ordinals. ordmasculine and ordfeminine; also substitutes st, nd, rd and th with superscripts when after numbers. This is contextual: 1st, 2nd, 11th and 12th are substituted, but not 1th, 2th, 11st or 12nd.
Ligatures. Standard lig, plus ellipsis, historical and small caps ligs, and ligs based on the alternate short-topped f. Also switches (c) (C) (p) (P) (r) and (R).
Historical forms. Subs s for longs, and related ligatures.
Stylistic alternates. Q ¶ q.small (last two not in Black), short-topped f and related ligs. In italics, also A, V and j.
Swashes. u and &, and (italics) Q. Long-tailed a, e, n and r are substituted at ends of words.
Ornaments. Two methods: display all ornaments by highlighting * . +, or two or four ornaments for each of a-z, A-Z, ()[]«».
