Description: A typeface family inpired by both industial type designs such as DIN and Isonorm, and typefaces with organic curves such as Cooper Black. One skeleton, two families: robust and rigid sanserif Akko and soft and friendly Akko Rounded. Each family has six weights (Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold and Black). Italics are availbable throughout the family. The initial idea was to create a sanserif type with a ‘soft-focus‘ effect. With rounded corners the overall look has a friendly touch, although its skeleton has a hint of German ‘Textura‘ type. Characteristics: (1) simple and compact letterform. Especially the capital letters are space-saving. (2) subtly curved diagonal strokes on A,V, K, v, y, etc. so that the junction creates less dark spot. (3) extra ligatures such as c-t and s-t for adding historical touch. Also for the German language the c-h, c-k and the s-c-h ligatures have been reintroduced. It makes sense in contemporary usage where space is crutial. (4) soft-focused but clear and legible letterforms. A clear distinction between the cap 'I', the figure '1' and the lowercase 'l', and the 'O' and the 'zero'. (5) lining and oldstyle figures are available.
