| Description: | Rockwell is a distinctive version of a geometric slab serif design, which has retained its popularity since its appearance in the 1930s. The slab serifs, or Egyptians, originated in the nineteenth century when they were used principally for display work. The first of the Rockwell fonts was issued by Monotype in 1934. It is a prime example of this twentieth century approach. The sturdy design of Rockwell is given a particular sparkle by angular terminals. The Rockwell font family is good for headlines and posters, and is legible in very short text blocks. |
