Frequently Asked Questions If I make a logo or ebook using your fonts, can I then sell that design or ebook? As long as you don't provide the entire font file to someone else in a manner that allows them to "type" you are in the clear. (with an exception for service bureaus, who, in some cases, need the font to output your layout.) Be sure to lock your .pdf files to disallow editing. I will use your fonts as images on a website. Is that permitted? This use is permitted. However, if you pass maintenance of the website off to someone else, and that person needs to modify the static images, your successor should purchase the font for their computer(s). I created a logo based on one of your fonts. Is that ok? If you provide a logo in a vectorized format to the client that depends heavily on an insigne font, that is acceptable, as long as you do not include the font files. However, if the client takes over the marketing and wants to use the font (all characters, not just the logo) in their extended branding (brochures, website, etc.), the client should purchase licenses for the computers they want to use the font on. Can I use your fonts and then send to a commercial printer? You may take a copy to the printer so they can output your layout. From the EULA: "Only for the purpose of outputting particular files may you take a copy of the font(s) you have used for such files to a commercial printer or other service bureau." The preferred method is to embed the fonts in a .pdf file and send that to your printer. Practically all service bureaus now accept .pdf files. Can I use your fonts in a commercial software product? This is acceptable, as long as your customers cannot extract or otherwise use the font and the images are static. You simply need one font license for each computer that is creating or modifying images with the typeface. If you are using the typeface for a user interface of some sort, you probably need a special license. Please contact us with questions. Can I use your fonts to create a scrapbooking stencil package or lettering stickers? This use would require a special license as the typeface is the primary design element in a product for resale.
